 The First Mystery Church of God was started by Dr Ernest Uriah Reid along with his wife Evangelist Eudah Reid and their seven children. Services began in their living room at 902 Webster Street NW Washington DC 20011 and later continued in their basement. The church received a certificate of incorporation in October of 1972, and in 1977 the church acquired its own property at 909 Webster Street NW. After serving as pastor for 24 years, Rev Ernest Reid was received into glory, and his wife followed in November of 2007. During this time Reverend Rupert Hogart (Asst Pastor at United Holiness Deliverance COG) who is now deceased, gave his time to serve the church monthly to administer pastoral duties. The then Deacon Robert Reid and Deacon Archibald served the church in all the other capacities. July 19, 1998 marked a turning point in the history of First Mystery Church of God. Deacon Robert Reid, son of Reverend and Evangelist Reid said yes to the Lord and took up the mantle. He was ordained and installed as the second and present Pastor of the First Mystery Church of God. The church has been trying for many years to acquire a building. However, after many years of fasting, praying, and searching First Mystery Church of God moved to our current building here at 14210 Old Stage Road Bowie MD in August 2017.  At the First Mystery Church of God we have various ministries. They are the Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, and Youth Ministry. The First Mystery Church of God is led by Pastor Robert Reid along with his wife Sis Jackie Allen-Reid and three ministers: Minister Llewelyn Mitchell, Minister Venice Green, and Minister Rupert Henry. Our remaining leaders are Deacon Clement Porter, Deacon Errol Ashond  Evangelist Lloyd Hunter, and Evangelist Hazel Porter.
